Diablo
Innovation Alliance
The Diablo Innovation
Alliance is a membership-driven initiative focused on emerging clean
technology sectors that drive regional economic growth and job creation
in the greater East Bay. Led by the Contra Costa Economic Partnership,
our leadership team is reaching out to individuals and organizations
with a vision of innovation and collaboration. The alliance was formed
in fall 2010. Our region in Northern California includes the counties
of Alameda, Contra Costa and Solano, which lie just east of San Francisco,
southwest of Sacramento, and north of Silicon Valley.

| Cluster
Organization |
|
Serving
as a "cluster organization," the Diablo Innovation Alliance brings
together all interested stakeholders-research institutions, entrepreneurs,
industry leaders, investors, workforce development organizations,
higher education, professional service providers, specialized suppliers,
government, and business organizations-to build on regional competitive
advantages that enhance the productivity, efficiency, and competitiveness
of local businesses in the cleantech sector New industries often
struggle without the support of common elements that innovative
regions afford them, such as cutting-edge research, technology commercialization
programs, specialized education and workforce training programs,
well-developed supply chains, common marketing channels, networking
venues, and policy development forums. Cluster organizations make
it easier for emerging and established companies to assert themselves
in their respective markets by building the business networks and
public-policy environment that supports industry cluster growth.
|
| Advocacy,
Promotion, and Assistance |
The
mission of the Diablo Innovation Alliance is to facilitate the growth
and competitiveness of the clean energy and water technology sectors
in the greater East Bay through public policy advocacy, cluster promotion,
and business assistance. By building upon the region's foundation
of innovative research, a strong talent base, and core companies,
we expect various clean technology sectors to become a powerful economic
engine that will drive the regional economy, create high-quality jobs,
and address global environmental challenges.
