The Contra Costa Economic Partnership is pleased to present the 2006 Performance Index focused this year on Competing in a Global Economy. Despite globalization, place still matters. The County's attractiveness as a place to live and conduct business ultimately depends on its ability to create and sustain job growth. While Contra Costa offers a promising future, there are cautionary flgs being riased and there continue to be challenges with housing affordability and job creation. The direction we take in the future depends on the decisions we make today. The 2006 Performance Index is intended to provide a factual basis for addressing these issues.
